Montessori + early STEM

Who this is for

Hands-on classes for curious toddlers and preschoolers. Children discover how the world works through Montessori materials, nature, building, and simple experiments.

How children learn

Children this age learn by doing. We invite them to explore, play, notice, and talk about what they find — not to sit still and watch a demonstration.

Montessori plus early STEM. Practical life, sensorial work, language, mathematics, nature, building, and problem solving. The rhythm is Explore → Play → Discover → Understand.

How Montessori and STEM work together →

Example activities

  • Practical life (pouring, preparing, caring)
  • Sensorial matching and sorting
  • Early mathematics with real objects
  • Language and storytelling
  • Nature collection and observation
  • Building and simple engineering
  • Science experiments such as sink or float
  • Early computational thinking through patterns and sequences

What parents notice

  • Children try things themselves instead of only watching
  • They learn to predict, test, and talk about what happened
  • Independence grows through real, useful work
  • Curiosity is treated as the starting point, not a distraction

Skills we nurture

Independence and concentrationFine motor controlEarly scientific thinkingLanguage and listeningProblem solvingWorking alongside others

Class format

75–90 minute classes. Children work with their hands, move between invitations, and gather for a short group moment at the end. Snacks are simple and optional.

Parent participation

Parents usually wait nearby or drop off, depending on the class and the child’s readiness. We will say clearly on each class page. For younger twos, a parent may stay for the first sessions.

Can we see air?

Can we see air? What happens when we trap it, blow it or use it to move something? In Air Detectives, children become little scientists as they explore something that is all around us but cannot be seen: air! Through playful, hands-on experiments, children will discover that even though air is invisible, we can observe what it does. They will experiment with an upside-down cup in water, create bubbles, blow and move different objects, and take on a fun Wind Challenge where they have to figure out how to make an object move using only air. Children are encouraged to predict what might happen, test their ideas and discover the answers through experimentation. A playful introduction to STEM that turns an everyday concept into an exciting scientific discovery.

Little Builders

n Little Builders, children become young engineers as they explore how to build structures that are strong, balanced and stable. Children will experiment with different building materials, create towers and test what happens when their structures become too tall or unbalanced. Instead of simply being shown how to build, they will be encouraged to observe why something falls and think about how they can improve it. For their building challenge, children will use what they have discovered to design and build a shelter for a toy animal. Through building, testing and trying again, children experience an important part of STEM learning: discovering that when something doesn't work the first time, we can change our design and try a new solution.
